Planet Defence (bundle ID com.giuseppetumino.solarsystem) is a free game for iPhone and
iPad made by Giuseppe Tumino. It shows ads and offers optional in-app purchases that remove them. This
page explains what data the app handles, who receives it and what you can do about it.

The app keeps a few settings on your device: whether audio is on, whether you have seen the tutorial, whether you bought "Remove ads" or subscribed, when an ad-free period from a rewarded video ends, and a best score still waiting to be sent to the leaderboard. These settings can be included in your device's iCloud or computer backup. They are deleted when you delete the app.
The first time the ads start, iOS shows its own window asking whether the app may track you across apps and websites of other companies. If you allow it, the Google Mobile Ads SDK can read your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). If you do not, the IDFA is not available to the app. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
The app shows banner, full-screen and rewarded video ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares with Google:
Personalised ads are shown only if you give your consent where it is required. Without it, Google may still show non-personalised ads, which are chosen from the context and your general location.
How Google uses this data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Advertising at Google.
If you buy "Remove ads" or subscribe, the app does not start the ads SDK at all and shows no tracking request and no consent form. During an ad-free period earned with a rewarded video, the app shows no banners and no full-screen ads, but it still loads the rewarded video, so you can watch another one to extend the period.
The consent form is shown by Google's User Messaging Platform, after the tracking request. It stores your choice on your device and passes it to AdMob. "Privacy options" in the menu opens the form again, so you can withdraw or change your consent.
The app uses Apple's Game Center for the leaderboard and the achievements. Signing in is optional: the game works without it. When you are signed in, Apple receives your Game Center player identifier and nickname, your scores and the achievements you unlock. Your best score appears on the "High scores" leaderboard, which other players can see according to your Game Center settings. You can manage your profile in Settings > Game Center.
"Remove ads forever" and the monthly "No ads" subscription are sold by Apple through the App Store. I do not receive your payment details. The app only receives the state of your purchases from the App Store and stores it on your device. You can cancel the subscription in Settings > your name > Subscriptions, or from the "Remove ads" button in the app.
Google Analytics for Firebase collects anonymous statistics about how the app is used: for example app opens, screens, session length, the app version, the device model, the iOS version, the language and the country estimated from the IP address. The app also sends how far you get in the game: whether you finish or skip the tutorial, which planets you start, save or lose, and for each planet its score, duration, enemies destroyed, accuracy and remaining life, and how each game ends. It uses an identifier created for this installation of the app. I use these statistics to understand how the game is played and to improve it. They do not contain your name or email address.
When the app crashes or hits an error, Firebase Crashlytics sends a report with the technical details of the error, the state of the app at that moment, the device model, the iOS version and an identifier of this installation. Crashlytics keeps reports for 90 days. I use them only to find and fix bugs.
Firebase privacy information: Privacy and Security in Firebase.
The data described above goes to Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited, which provide AdMob and Firebase, and to Apple, which provides Game Center and the App Store. They may process it in countries outside your own, including the United States, under the safeguards described in Google's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy. I do not sell your data and I do not share it with anyone else.
All the data these services send leaves your device encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
The app is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect data from them. If you are a parent or guardian and think your child has provided personal data, contact me and I will help you have it deleted.
If the app starts to handle data in a different way, I will update this page and its effective date.
